How to turn on “OK Google”

Ok Google is a way you can start Google’s Voice search or have Google do something for you!

The Minimum Requirements for Ok Google are

  • Google App Version 3.5 or higher
  • Android 4.4 (KitKat) or higher
  • Voice and Audio Activity turned on

Okay so lets begin.

  • First all make sure that you have the latest version of the Google app, you can get the latest update from Google app page on Google play store.

  • And then open the Google App google-2015

  • At the top left, tap Menu kvktq

  • Then Select “Settings”

  • And click on the option “Voice”

  • And then select “Ok Google detection”

  • Check the box next to “From Google App”

And there you go, now “Ok Google” will work within the Google App

For some Android Phone’s you can use “Ok Google outside the Google App”

  1. Check the box next to “From any screen”

  2. And then follow the instructions to teach Google what your voice sounds like.

“Keep in mind, the “From any screen” setting may prevent other voice services that use hotwords or wake up commands from working. For example, if you have a Samsung S6 and turn on S-Voice to use the wake up command “Hi Galaxy,” it may not work if “From any screen” is turned on.” – Google
